Kevin G. Moynihan

Kevin Moynihan is an associate at Richardson, Whitman, Large, and Badger. Kevin is a trial attorney who has significant courtroom and litigation experience. Kevin recognizes the importance of building strong client relationships that prioritize open communication and works diligently to secure the best possible outcomes for his clients.

Kevin was born in Portland, Maine and raised in Yarmouth, Maine. He received his bachelor’s degree from Stonehill College in North Easton, Massachusetts, and his law degree from the University of Maine School of Law. Throughout law school, he interned at a local criminal defense firm, and during his third year of law school, was a Legal Writing and Research Teaching Assistant and was involved in the Juvenile Justice Clinic at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic.

After law school, Kevin worked for one year as a law clerk for the Maine Superior Court. Thereafter, he worked at the same criminal defense firm where he interned during law school. In 2012, Kevin joined another local criminal defense firm. While at both firms, Kevin gained substantial trial experience representing both indigent and retained clients in criminal cases throughout the State of Maine. During this time, Kevin also represented several survivors of sex trafficking, and based on this experience, was invited to speak at both the Maine State Bar Association Summer Conference and the Maine Bench Conference. In 2019, Kevin transitioned to the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office, where he worked as a domestic violence prosecutor and eventually managed the probation violation docket.

After close to 10 years practicing criminal law and wanting to have a more diverse practice, Kevin joined Richardson, Whitman, Large, and Badger in May 2023. At Richardson, Whiteman, Large, and Badger, Kevin’s practice focuses on certain criminal cases, civil litigation, construction claims, real estate litigation, and insurance defense.

In his free time, Kevin enjoys hiking, boating, golfing (badly), cooking, and spending time with his wife, son, and dog.
