Frederick J. Badger, Jr.     

Fred is an experienced trial lawyer, a director of the firm and the senior attorney in the Bangor office. He specializes in complex civil litigation with an emphasis on products liability, professional liability and construction litigation. Fred has tried numerous cases throughout the state in both state and federal courts. Fred’s significant cases have included defending a major auto manufacturer in roof crush and door latch cases and defending well known equipment manufacturers in accidents involving harvesters, fellerbunchers and front end loaders. He has handled many high exposure economic loss claims.

Fred is also frequently chosen to mediate and arbitrate cases and enjoys an active practice in these areas.

Fred is a member of DRI, the voice of the defense bar. He is actively involved in the products liability committee of DRI. He is also a member of the Maine State Bar Association and the Penobscot County Bar Association. Fred is a former member and panel chair of the grievance commission of the Board of Bar Overseers.

Born in Akron, Ohio, Fred graduated cum laude from Kent State University and received his law degree from the Ohio State University College of Law. Before coming to Bangor to practice law, Fred was a prosecuting attorney in Summit County, Ohio. He is still licensed to practice law in Ohio, as well as Maine.

Among Fred’s personal interests are hiking, travel, farming and tennis.
